Student project: Interactive Generations (winter 2011)

Facebook, Twitter, or Foursquare - social media is increasingly integrated in the life of younger generations. At the same time, demographic changes lead to aging user groups as well as new challenges of intergenerational communication. The student project “Interactive Generations - Social Media in Home Environments” aims at creating concepts for innovative, intergenerational interaction including social media technology. This includes new application contexts like smart homes and intelligent interfaces within the home environment.

Focused concepts include:

  • Intergenerational communication
  • Integration of social media in home environments
  • Interactiondesign for smart homes
  • Enhancement of social communities through gaming approaches
  • Support of awareness and privacy
