KOLEGEA++

Based on the web 2.0 support system for cooperative learning in professional social networks of medical practitioners in further education, developed successfully within the predecessor project KOLEGEA, this project aims to intensify platform usage by integrating mechanism to support and motivate users.

KOLEGEA++ is focused on practitioners in further education in general medicine and supports cooperative knowledge transfer based on the discussion of medical cases. Intelligent recommenders will be used to foster learning processes by both recommending related cases as well as cases with topics that were hitherto unnoticed by the user. In addition, interaction and group building will be supported by intelligent user-to-group matching.

Intelligent support mechanisms are integrated in the KOLEGEA platform and will be evaluated in practical scenarios. As a result, the developments of KOLEGEA++ will lead to significant improvements of the platform as a whole and contribute to future growth in terms of content and users.
